Context Me ("we", "us", "our") operates the CTX Me platform, including the website, API, CLI tool, and MCP server (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

Information you provide

  • Account information: Email address and name when you sign in via Clerk, our third-party authentication provider. We do not store passwords.
  • Content: Projects, context items, documents, and metadata you upload or create through the Service.
  • Communications: Any information you share when contacting us by email for support or feedback.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs: IP addresses, user agent strings, request timestamps, and response status codes are recorded in server access logs for operational and security purposes. These are not stored in your account or linked to your profile.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or session recording tools.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • Store and serve the content you upload, including extracting text from documents to enable search.
  • Respond to support requests and communications.
  • Monitor for abuse, fraud, and security incidents.

We do not use your content to train machine learning models. Your context data belongs to you.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored in PostgreSQL databases hosted on Fly.io infrastructure. Files are stored in S3-compatible object storage (Cloudflare R2).
  • All connections to the Service are encrypted in transit via TLS (HTTPS is enforced in production).
  • Authentication is handled via Clerk (a third-party identity provider) for web access, and API keys for programmatic access.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics), bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Export your content at any time via the API or CLI.

We use minimal, functional cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) via MCP and API. When you connect these tools, your context data is transmitted to them according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any tools you connect.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service.
